Tungsten Rings Require Very Little Cleaning

Tungsten Rings are the most durable rings on the planet. Made of tungsten carbide, Tungsten Depot’s jewelry is famously sturdy, standing up under some of the most punishing conditions. When tungsten is forged with carbide using nickel as a binding agent, the resultant composite metal is as hard as steel. Because of its resistance, tungsten rings do not scratch, never tarnish and rarely need cleaning. On the rare occasions when a buff-up is warranted, it is astonishingly easy to create the shine and sparkle as brilliantly as when your tungsten ring was originally mastered.
If your ring begins to look smudged, it can quickly be shined with a soft cloth, much like you would use to buff out a fine pair of shoes. A piece of felt, silk or soft cotton works wonders to restore your ring to its original brilliance. Simply hold the center of the ring and apply mild strokes to wipe away any fingerprints or natural oils that may have appeared. It is not necessary to apply pressure as the rings natural sheen wipes clean with little effort.
In the event your tungsten rings begin to look scratched, examine them carefully. It is highly unlikely they have suffered any scratching since the metal is so hard. What can happen with tungsten jewelry is that threads or small particles sometimes adhere to the metal, often due to static electricity or grime. Typically you can remove particles by just swishing the ring in plain water to loosen any threads or dirt that may have stuck to your ring.
For stubborn particles, take a small amount of soapy water, using a mild detergent and a soft toothbrush to gently brush away any grime or flecks that may have been resistant to your original washing. Once clean, use a soft dry cloth to wipe water off the ring as sometimes water spots can occur if the metal is not adequately dried and the water you are using is particularly hard.
While tungsten rings require very little cleaning or upkeep compared to gold, platinum or silver, occasional cleaning is recommended. For people who wear the highly durable rings in harsher environments, more frequent cleaning may be necessary. Rarely, if ever, will you need to have your tungsten rings professionally cleaned. Tungsten jewelry’s tremendous durability is one of the salient features of this metal that preserves its shine for years to come, without scratching or tarnishing like other rings.
